Reading Psalm 67
` God be merciful unto us, and bless us;
and cause the holy face to shine upon us; Selah.
That your way may be known upon earth,
your saving health among all nations.
Let the people praise you, O God;
let all the people praise your name.
O let the nations be glad and sing for joy:
for you will judge the people righteously,
and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
Let the people praise you, O God;
let all the people praise your name.
Then shall the earth yield her increase;
and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us;
and all the ends of the earth will be in awe.
Anthem Benedicat nos Deus Johann Caspar Aiblinger (1779-1867)
May God continue to bless us;
let all the ends of the earth revere God.
Psalm 67:7
Reading John 14:23-29
Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and God will love them, and we will come
to them and make our home with them. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words, and the word
that you hear is not mine but is from God who sent me.”
“I have said these things to you while I am still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom God
will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you. Peace I leave
with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled,
and do not let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I am coming to you.’ If you
loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Creator because the Creator is greater than I. And now I
have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur you may believe.”
Sermon “Eastertide Living” Rev. Dr. Margaret Benefiel, '75

Prayers of the People
After each petition:
One God of love and mercy,
All Hear our prayer.
Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
